For many, saving money on groceries is a necessity due to rising food costs. Unless you own a printer and/or get a hold of sunday inserts, you really don't stand much of a chance to utilize coupons. Granted, store loyalty cards definately help you to save money too. If you shop somewhere that doesn't do loyalty cards and don't do coupons, you're stuck paying that stores prices.
Luckily, for those who want to save money buying groceries or get money back for their purchases, we have handy dandy apps for that! I use four different apps for my grocery purchases and they have really helped me to save money.
These four apps are: Mobisave, Saving Star, and Ibotta.
Mobisave is incredibly easy to use and only requires you to save the offers in the app and then snap a photo of your receipt. Name brand items have higher rebate amounts, but those any brand offers can add up too. One thing I love is that you get the rebate in your Paypal account within a couple hours. For instance, today, I bought Reddi Whip and got $1 in my Paypal account in less than an hour. I love this aspect of the app!! I, literally, can go to my van after my shopping trip, snap the photo of the receipt, and by the time I am home they've put that in my Paypal. How awesome is that??
Saving Star is very easy to use, though sometimes it's kind of ridiculous. You can link some of your store loyalty cards, so it will find out that you've made a purchase there with little to no work on your end. For stores where you can't link your card, it requires snapping a photo of the receipt and then scanning the item's barcode. They always have a few "One or Many" offers that require you to spend so much money on certain products within a time frame. These offers usually give you between $3 and $5 back once you've purchased the set monetary amount. You cannot cash out on here until you've reached the $5 minimum. However, the minimum isn't too hard to reach and it usually pays out within 24 hours.
Ibotta is not only easy, but it has much more than just grocery store savings. They offer a percentage back on purchase made in places like Buffalo Wild Wings, World Market, Best Buy, and even Amazon. For grocery purchases, you have bonuses such as product pairings, monthly levels, and earning a set number of rebates from certain stores. My store trip with my kids today gave me $4.50 just from product rebates and due to bonuses, I earned an extra $4. You can link your store cards for certain store rebates and for the other stores, just snap a picture of your receipt. It took less than an hour for my account to be credited. Payments from Ibotta usually take less than 24 hours to hit my Paypal. Another thing I do like is that they offer the "Any Brand" rebates too as well as a new rebate that you get for just purchsing any item. It's pretty cool!
I highly encourage you to check out to download and use these apps if you want to get some money back from the grocery store.
